Paxton's Gate in PDX
My favorite shop in San Francisco has open up a store here in Portland! I was thrilled when Alec gave me my very own python necklace for my birthday and my friend Allison talks about it here (I stole the photo from her, she has a painfully adorable blog which I suggest reading, and her dog and my hedgehog have the same name, which of course means we both have incredible taste). I highly...

For the next 18 hours Living Social is matching every $5 donation to the American Red Cross to go directly to the Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami fund. Go here. You may have to create an account, but it’s just like a groupon, so it will be worth it. I promise.
Pi Party
Tonight was the first time I was able to attend the (4th) annual pi celebration which included pizza, cookies and math concept charades (where each player would take his/her turn miming whenever a math term popped into their head). My favorites were ‘schrodinger’s cat’, ‘socatoa’, ‘if two trains are traveling…’ and ‘show your work’.
Savoy Tavern, SE Clinton
Alec and I stumbled upon this little gem while trying to pick out the perfect happy hour spot last night (you know, somewhere with a fireplace, giant leather chairs, Ninkasi beer for $2, food that wasn’t too heavy before my second course of vegan corndogs at Hungry Tiger Too at 8 with Rachel). The exterior and the additional use of ‘bistro’ in the name is misleading and annoying...
Me: Will you always text me in tweet form? i really liked that.
Alec: I will now put all text themes as hashtages #ridiculouspromises.
